Question:

100 Mr. S. Barrett asked the Minister for Justice if he will outline the current position on the applications by a Ghanaian citizen and a Chinese citizen for refugee status in this country; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Minister for Justice (Mr. Burke)

The current position is that certain additional information has been sought from each of the applicants, through their solicitors. When the information sought is received the applications will be processed as quickly as possible.
