Question:108 Mr. McCartan asked the Minister for Justice if he will make funds available to the band of An Garda Síochána to facilitate a programme of concerts abroad in the current year.

I am informed by the Garda authorities that the Garda Band have a full programme of domestic engagements for the remainder of this year and there are no plans for a programme of concerts abroad.
The Garda Band have one engagement outside the State this year. Later this month they will participate in the 4th International Police Band Festival in Basel, Switzerland at the invitation of the Basel city police.
