58 Mr. Byrne asked the Minister for the Environment if he will outline the membership of the interdepartmental committee on national taxi/hackney review; when it is expected that the committee will complete their work; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The interdepartmental committee, which I have established to review the legislation and procedures governing the operation of small public service vehicles, includes representatives of the Department of the Environment, the Department of Justice, the Department of Tourism, Transport and Communications and the Garda Síochána. The committee have been asked to report to me within six months i.e., by November next at the latest.
