Vol. 409 No. 9

Written Answers. - Killybegs (Donegal) Nursing Unit.

Dinny McGinley

Question:

123 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Health if there are plans to provide a nursing unit for Killybegs, County Donegal; if so, the facilities envisaged for the unit; the present stage of planning; when it is planned to have the unit completed; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The North-Western Health Board regard the planning and building of the community nursing unit in Killybegs as a priority project. The board have recently submitted a revised brief on the unit which is presently under consideration in my Department.

In view of the priority attached to this project by the board, as I have already stated, I would be hopeful that progress can be made in the near future with the assistance of funds under the Programme for Economic and Social Progress.
