Vol. 409 No. 10

Written Answers. - Tax Free Allowance.

Liam Aylward

Question:

43 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Finance the reason no tax-free allowance has been allocated to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the taxpayer submitted an application for tax exemption to the inspector of taxes, Kilkenny on 16 May 1991. He also informed him of his commencement as a civilian worker with the Army. The application was proper to Public Departments, Dublin, and the taxpayer's papers were referred to that section to be dealt with.

A certificate of tax-free allowances was issued to the taxpayer on 17 June 1991 granting exemption of £7,490 gross per annum.
