Vol. 409 No. 10

Written Answers. - Local Authority House Repairs.

Dinny McGinley

Question:

56 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for the Environment if an application by Donegal County Council for funds towards the repair and maintenance of local authority houses has been received in his Department; and if so, if an allocation will be made for this project.

Local authorities are responsible for the funding of such works from their own resources including the rental income from their dwellings and 40 per cent of the proceeds of house sales. As an exceptional measure, the council have made an application for sanction to borrow funds for the purpose and this has been approved.
