206 Mr. Dempsey asked the Minister for Education if she will outline the criteria used in deciding on the allocation of remedial teachers to primary schools; if she will further outline the likely date when the next group to remedial teachers will be appointed; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

Remedial teaching posts are allocated on the basis of priority of need as identified and reported upon by my inspectorate.

The appropriate school managements have recently been informed of the appointment of these additional posts.
