Tom Enright

Question:

82 Mr. Enright asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the current position on an application for a land reclamation grant for a person (details supplied) in County Offaly; the amount of grant approved; and when payment will be made.

It is hoped to have a grant of £2,761 paid within the next four to five weeks.

Frank Crowley

Question:

84 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food whether an application for an installation aid grant has been approved for a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

There is no record of an application from the person mentioned under the scheme of installation aid for young farmers.

Michael Finucane

Question:

86 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the current position regarding the payment of a commercial horticultural grant to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick; and the value of the grant.

In the first round, the closing date for which was 31 March 1991, nearly 500 applications for grant aid for horticulture and potato projects were received. These are at present being procesed by my Department. Applicants will be informed of the outcome of their applications at the earliest possible date.

Liam Aylward

Question:

87 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will arrange early payment of an installation aid grant to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

It is hoped to have this application determined shortly. If the applicant is found to be eligible payment will be made as soon as possible.

88 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will outline the grant aid available to farmers in the less severely disadvantaged areas towards stables and other related facilities for half-bred horses; when they will qualify for such benefits/grant aid; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Grant aid of 50 per cent of the approved cost of stabling, fencing and related facilities for sport horses is available in the less favoured areas. Grant aid is paid when investments are satisfactorily completed.
