Vol. 410 No. 3

Written Answers. - Ireland-German Tax Treaty.

Michael Noonan

Question:

6 Mr. Noonan (Limerick East): asked the Minister for Finance if any discussions have taken place with the German authorities with a view to renegotiating the double taxation agreement between Ireland and Germany.

No formal request has been received from the German authorities to have the existing German-Ireland tax treaty renegotiated.

Discussions have taken place regarding certain concerns in Germany, about displacement of revenues, which the German authorities feel may impinge on the existing treaty. These discussions are ongoing and have not yet reached a conclusion.
