Written Answers. - Provision of Sports Amenity at Sligo.
My Department have no application for the provision of an athletics track in Sligo.
As the Deputy will be aware, responsibility for the national lottery funded recreational facilities grant scheme has been transferred to the Department of the Environment. Under these new arrangements, grants are allocated by the Minister for the Environment to projects recommended by local authorities, which are also responsible for processing applications.
