Vol. 410 No. 7

Written Answers. - Worker Directors.

Joe Sherlock

Question:

24 Mr. Sherlock asked the Minister for Labour if he will consider amending the Worker Participation (State Enterprises) legislation to ensure that the role of worker directors will be protected and maintained in the event of privatisation of any enterprise; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The Worker Participation (State Enterprises) Acts relate to companies in the public sector and it is not my intention to extend the provisions of these Acts to cover the private sector, which would include the privatised State companies.
