Vol. 410 No. 7

Written Answers. - Data Access.

Michael Finucane

Question:

54 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if, under the Data Protection Act, 1986, an individual farmer who participated in the disadvantaged area submission of his townland, which was not accepted as part of the submission to the EC, can have access to this data; if he will outline the way in which the farmer concerned can gain access to this data; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The procedures relating to the right of access of individuals to computerised data are set out in detail in chapter 4 of the Guide to the Data Protection Act, 1988, (issued by the Data Protection Commissioner) to which the Deputy is referred.
