Vol. 411 No. 1

Written Answers. - County Kilkenny Bridge Project.

Phil Hogan

Question:

416 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for the Environment when finance to fund the entire cost of a bridge project (details supplied) in County Kilkenny will be made available to the local authority.

Kilkenny County Council have recently been notified that road grants will be made available, subject to certain conditions, in the event of the local authority proceeding with the provision of an overbridge at Miltown on the New Ross-Waterford road which is now under construction. The amount of the grant would be the lesser of £110,000 or 50 per cent of the all-in cost of the bridge, including design. The balance of the cost would have to be met from the local authority's own resources.
