582 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Education if she will implement her promise to have the community school in Cashel, County Tipperary commenced this year despite the Government decision to put on hold many projects requiring Exchequer investment; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

Arrangements for the invitation of tenders for the proposed new community school in Cashel are expected to be completed shortly. Pending the receipt and examination of the tenders I am not in a position to give any specific undertaking in relation to the commencement of construction. However, as I have indicated previously, I am committed to having this school provided as soon as possible.
