123 Mr. Bell asked the Minister for Justice if he will outline the measures taken by the gardaí to protect members of the public who co-operate with the Garda in passing on confidential information; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

It has never been the practice, and it would be contrary to the public interest, to disclose the type of information sought by the Deputy.
