Vol. 411 No. 7

Written Answers. - Carrickmacross (Monaghan) Bypass.

William Cotter

Question:

161 Mr. Cotter asked the Minister for the Environment whether a new bypass route is planned for Carrickmacross, County Monaghan; if he will outline the present status of this proposal; when he expects the project to commence; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Possible alignments for a bypass of Carrickmacross are the subject of consultations between my Department and Monaghan County Council. Subject to the outcome of these consultations, the timing of the construction of a bypass will be considered in the context of preparing the next roads programme which will cover the period after 1993.
