Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given to me under Standing Order 20 (3) (a) and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Bernard Durkan — if the Minister for Education will urgently review the need to provide for extra accommodation and other facilities at a number of post-primary schools in County Kildare; (2) Deputy Padraic McCormack — the new school at Snipe Avenue, Galway; (3) Deputy Bill Cotter — the condition of Ballymackney national school, Carrickmacross, and the need for a new school to replace the existing structure; (4) Deputy Bernard Allen — the sale of 140 acres of prime land at Clogheen, Cork, in 1988 by the Southern Health Board; (5) Deputy Roger Garland — the serious situation arising from the cutbacks in the regional fisheries boards with the consequent deterioration in fisheries protection, both inland and coastal; (6) Deputy Nuala Fennell — if the Minister for Health will indicate the action he is taking on the findings of the recent UCD Department of Public Health report, indicating a failure to follow up 50 per cent of positive cervical smear tests; (7) Deputy Gerry O'Sullivan — the serious situation regarding the financial position of fisheries boards throughout the country; (8) Deputy Pat Rabbitte — the urgent matter of the construction of the Tallaght Regional Hospital; (9) Deputy Proinsias De Rossa — the decision by the Government to abolish the Advisory Council on Development Co-operation; (10) Deputy Eamon Gilmore — the continuing refusal by the prison authorities to allow a prisoner at the Training Unit, Glengarriff Parade, Dublin, to attend an interview for a FAS training course; and (11) Deputy Dan Wallace — the steps that are being taken by the Gardai in Cork to alleviate the problem of vandalism being experienced by the residents in the north side of the city.

I have selected for discussion on the Adjournment the matters raised by the following Deputies: (1) Deputy Gerry O'Sullivan, (2) Deputy Proinsias De Rossa and (3) Deputy Bernard Durkan.
