Question:

42 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will outline the quantities of beef and cattle which are being sold directly to non EC markets by Irish firms which are not coming out of intervention stores.

The data sought by the Deputy is not available in the form requested. However, I can inform him that the following total quantities were exported to third countries during the past three years:

In regard to the figures for beef exports a precise breakdown as to the proportion represented by non-intervention supplies is not available. However, the following quantities were committed under the EC intervention export sales to third countries:
