Vol. 412 No. 6

Written Answers. - Farmyard Pollution Control.

Liam Hyland

Question:

48 Mr. Hyland asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will outline the progress to date under the operational programme for the control of farmyard pollution; and if he has satisfied himself that the objectives of the programme are being realised.

Of some 28,000 farmers who have applied to date to participate in the operational programme for the control of farmyard pollution, almost 22,000 have received approval to proceed with their projects and work has already been completed in 9,000 cases, representing grant aid of around £40 million. Grants will be paid in the remaining cases when the work has been completed.
