Vol. 412 No. 6

Written Answers. - County Limerick Beef Premium Application.

Michael Finucane

Question:

108 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason an EC beef premium was refused to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick; and if, in view of the financial hardship imposed on the person, he will reconsider this application.

This applicant listed on his 1991 special beef premium scheme application one animal which had received premium already. Since special beef premium may be claimed only once in the lifetime of each animal, the person named was deemed to have made a false declaration on his application and could not be paid any special beef premium for 1991.

In addition, he will not be eligible to apply again for special beef premium for twelve months from 14 October 1991.
