Vol. 412 No. 6

Written Answers. - Farm Installation Aid Grants.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

113 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will outline the number of unpaid farm installation aid grants outstanding for County Kildare; if he will further outline (a) the normal delay in such cases after approval takes place and (b) the average delay in the cases referred to; if he will further outline the number of such grants paid (1) on a weekly and (2) on a monthly basis in County Kildare in the past year; if he will arrange a more expeditious method of payment; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

During 1991 nine applications certified by Teagasc were received in County Kildare under the scheme of installation aid for young farmers.

To date six of these applications have been approved and grants paid in four cases. Payment in the other two cases will be made shortly.

Payment will be made in the remaining three cases as soon as the applicants have satisfied the requirements in relation to registration.

In general there is no delay in payment of grants under this scheme provided the applicants comply fully and expeditiously with all the requirements, including registration of title to the land in question.
