Question:

134 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for the Environment if he will outline (1) the number of house improvement grants approved from the introduction of the increased house improvement grants in 1985 until the scheme was terminated, (2) the number of grants paid, and (3) the total cost of the scheme.

I refer to my Department's bulletins of housing statistics, copies of which are placed in the Oireachtas Library, for the information requested at (1) and (2). Grants paid under the scheme amount to £199 million.
