Vol. 413 No. 1

Written Answers. - School Transport.

Seán Barrett

Question:

161 Mr. S. Barrett asked the Minister for Education if his attention has been drawn to the fact that a bus pass has not, to date, been granted to a person (details supplied) in County Dublin for whom an undertaking was given in the reply to Parliamentary Question No. 647 of 16 October 1991 that this would be granted; if he will take immediate steps to ensure that free transport is provided in this case and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Dublin Bus are proceeding with arrangements for transport of the child in question.

John V. Farrelly

Question:

162 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Education the reason school transport is not being provided to a person (details supplied) in County Meath who is attending Cabra School, Kingscourt, County Cavan which is his nearest school; if arrangements will now be made for provision of school transport; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

There is no school transport service from Nobber to Cabra NS, Kingscourt because there is not a sufficient number of eligible children to establish a service under the terms of the primary school transport scheme.

The family applied to the Department for transport to Kells. They have been offered concessionary fare-paying facilities to Kells.
