115 Mr. S. Barrett asked the Minister for Justice if he will outline his plans to build a new Garda district headquarters at Blackrock, County Dublin; when it is proposed to commence construction work at this location; and if he will further outline the cost of this project.
As I indicated in reply to Question No. 125 on 13 November 1991, plans are being prepared by the Office of Public Works to build a major extension to the Garda station at Blackrock and completely renovate the existing building. It is estimated that the project will cost in excess of £1 million. It is not possible, at this stage, to say when construction will commence, but there will be no avoidable delay.
