Vol. 413 No. 5

Written Answers. - Disabled Person's Rehabilitative Allowance.

Noel Dempsey

Question:

163 Mr. Dempsey asked the Minister for Health if she has any proposals to re-align the rates of disabled person's maintenance allowance and disabled person's rehabilitation allowance.

The rate of disabled person's rehabilitative allowance is currently £67.20 per week, as compared with £55 for disabled person's maintenance allowance. The additional amount is to cover the costs of persons, who, by virtue of their attendance at a vocational training course, are required to live away from home.
