Written Answers. - Meath Sheltered Workshop.

John V. Farrelly

Question:

165 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Health if she intends to make a special allocation available to the North-Eastern Health Board for an extension to the Meath Sheltered Workshop, Beechmount Industrial Estate, Navan which has 45 applicants awaiting places; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The funding of the Meath Sheltered Workshop is a matter for the North-Eastern Health Board in the first instance.

The board have agreed in principle to an extension costing up to £120,000 subject to certain modifications to the design and subject to satisfactory arrangements being made with other rehabilitation facilities serving the area.
The board will contribute an amount to be determined after consideration of all relevant aspects of the plan.
