Vol. 413 No. 5

Written Answers. - Milk Allocation.

Michael Finucane

Question:

91 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the amount of milk that the milk quota appeals tribunal has to allocate; and the criteria to be met in order to be eligible for an allocation.

The amount of quota available for allocation by the tribunal at present is about 100,000 gallons. In order to be eligible for an allocation from this reserve producers must have suffered particular hardship under the quota system and their basic quota entitlement, i.e. their milk deliveries in 1983, must have been adversely affected to a significant extent by human illness or animal disease or the accidental destruction of the producer's fodder or dairy herd. In addition the producers must not have benefited significantly from any previous reserve.
