144 Mr. Sherlock asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received applications from urban centres (details supplied) for inclusion in the urban renewal scheme administered by his Department; if it is likely that any of the schemes will be approved; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Representations have been received on behalf of Mallow, Fermoy, Youghal and Cobh seeking designation under the Urban Renewal Act, 1986. I have no proposals at present to extend the urban renewal scheme to further areas.
