Pádraic McCormack

Question:

Pádraic McCormack

Question:

109 Mr. McCormack asked the Minister for the Environment when he will be in a position to meet a deputation from the Ballymana group water scheme, Craughwell, County Galway as requested by the organiser of this group water scheme over a long period.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 55 and 109 together.

The group's revised proposal is to serve up to 70 households at an estimated cost of £458,000. Based on current membership, this would amount to £6,735 per house served. While it would be possible to consider approving standard grants of £700 per house and £500 per farm, it would not be practicable for my Department to contribute further to this highcost scheme within present budgetary circumstances.
