Written Answers. - Health and Safety Regulations.

Peter Barry

Question:

192 Mr. Barry asked the Minister for Justice if his Department and the State agencies under his control have prepared a safety statement as required under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act, 1989.

Considerable progress has been made by my Department and the agencies within my area of responsibility in relation to the preparation of safety statements for each workplace as required under section 12 of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act, 1989. Draft safety statements have been prepared in respect of a number of work areas. Draft statements in respect of the remaining work areas are currently being prepared. Consultation with staff is ongoing.
