Vol. 413 No. 9

Written Answers. - Ministerial Advisers.

Tomás MacGiolla

Question:

282 Tomás Mac Giolla asked the Minister for Education (1) if he will retain the services of advisers previously employed by his predecessor (2) if he has employed or will employ advisers (3) if he will give the names of those persons currently employed in his Department as ministerial advisers and (4) the estimated cost of employing such personnel for the year 1991; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

My predecessor, immediately prior to her departure, did not have the services of an adviser. I have appointed my own adviser, Mr. John Slattery. The Minister of State at my Department has also appointed his own adviser, Mr. Patrick Kearney. The estimated cost of both advisers in 1991 is £7,600.
