Vol. 413 No. 9

Written Answers. - Health and Safety Regulations.

Peter Barry

Question:

288 Mr. Barry asked the Minister for Defence if his Department and the State agencies under his control have prepared a safety statement as required under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act, 1989.

Draft safety statements have been prepared in respect of the offices of my Department and for Defence Forces locations generally. It is hoped to have these statements finalised shortly in consultation with the staff interests involved.

A safety statement is in the course of preparation by Coiste an Asgard — the only relevant State company which comes under the aegis of my Department.
