Vol. 413 No. 9

Written Answers. - Cashel (Galway) School Transport Service.

Pádraic McCormack

Question:

63 Mr. McCormack asked the Minister for Education if he will take steps to restore the school transport system which his Department discontinued to Cashel national school, County Galway at the beginning of this school term; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The service in question from the Lehenagh, Bunahown and Lettershana areas was withdrawn at the end of the summer school term 1991 as there were insufficient eligible children offering for transport. This was only part of the services operating to Cashel national school.

Should the number of eligible children increase sufficiently the position regarding the operation of the service will be reviewed.
