181 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a private hackney licence has not yet issued to a person (details supplied) in Waterford who has been in the business for 20 years and was late submitting his application for renewal due to an insurance difficulty; if he will now arrange to have this licence issued a matter of urgency; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Public service vehicle regulations provide that arrangements for receiving, considering and granting licences for public service vehicles generally, including hackney and taxi licences, are a matter for the Garda Commissioner.
