Question:

212 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Health if a grant was paid this year to the National Council for the Blind; if so, if she will outline (a) the amount (b) the amount of the increase over the previous year, if any, and (c) the date of payment.

The provision of funding for the National Council for the Blind is a matter for the health boards. The total funding provided in respect of the current year will be £283,737. This represents an increase of £8,337 over funding for 1990.

The dates of payment of these grants vary between health boards.
