Vol. 414 No. 5

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Theresa Ahearn

Question:

65 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a special beef premium will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

This payment is being processed at present and, if found in order, will be made as soon as possible.

Phil Hogan

Question:

66 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when an installation aid grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Carlow.

This application cannot be further processed until the applicant has furnished evidence that his title to the land in question has been registered in the Land Registry.

Theresa Ahearn

Question:

67 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary, who applied for a special beef premium in June for some of his stock, can now apply for the remainder of his stock; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

As the person named applied for 1991 special beef premium in the summer of this year he cannot apply again now. Applicants were given a choice of applying in May-June 1991 or in December 1991, whichever suited them best, but not during both application periods.

John Connor

Question:

68 Mr. Connor asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when he intends to sanction payment under the 1990 special cow suckler grant scheme which was applicable to small milk producers with a quota of 12,800 gallons and under last year; and if he will make a statement on the reason for the long delay in making these payments.

The delay in starting the payments arose from the fact that the EC Regulations governing the scheme were published so late that applications could not issue at the usual time in the summer of 1990 and because, when they did issue in early 1991, my Department experienced difficulties in obtaining details of some applicant's milk quotas from their co-operatives for the purpose of determining their eligibility and the grants payable to them.
