Vol. 414 No. 9

Written Answers. - Tax Refunds.

John Browne

Question:

51 Mr. Browne (Wexford) asked the Minister for Finance if a tax rebate will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford where the original claim was refused because he only submitted a copy of his P45.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the taxpayer applied for a repayment of income tax on 27 November 1990. Along with the claim for repayment he submitted a copy of the employer's portion of his P45. Instead he should have submitted parts two and three of his P45 and consequently the inspector wrote to him on 28 November 1990 requesting these. As no reply had been received by 17 December 1991 the inspector wrote again requesting details of employment and any periods of unemployment from July 1990 to date. Upon receipt of this information his claim for repayment will be processed.
