Question:

57 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance whether consideration has been given to the possibility of tax break incentives, to encourage urban renewal in any of the towns or villages in County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The tax incentives associated with urban renewal are given to an area following the designation of the area in question by an Order under the Urban Renewal Act, 1986. The question of such designation is a matter in the first instance for my colleague the Minister for the Environmnet.
