62 Mr. Spring asked the Minister for Justice if any consideration has been given by the Government to the holding of a referendum on divorce at the same time as the Maastricht referendum; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The Government have taken no decision to hold a referendum on divorce but the White Paper on marital breakdown will be published shortly.
