Donal Carey

Question:

77 Mr. Carey asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Clare will be paid his suckler cow and beef premium grants for 1991; and when the file was passed from the Ennis office of his Department.

This applicant has already been paid his 1991 suckler cow premium and beef cow and equines headage schemes grants. His 1991 special beef premium scheme grant is being processed and if found in order payment will issue shortly. The 1991 suckler cow and beef cow applications were passed for payment on 9 January 1992. The 1991 special beef premium scheme application was provisionally passed by the local office on 3 December 1991 subject to a computer check on the eligibility of the animals.

78 Mr. Carey asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Clare will be paid his headage and suckler grants for 1991; and when the file was passed from the Ennis office of his Department.

The person named is not the registered owner of the herd number quoted. However, the registered owner of that herd number has submitted applications for grants under the 1991 cattle headage and suckler cow schemes and those applications are being processed at present and if found in order payment will issue in due course.

79 Mr. Carey asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Clare will be paid his headage and suckler cow grants for 1991; and when the file was passed from the Ennis office of his Department.

This applicant has already been paid his 1991 cattle headage and suckler cow premium schemes grants. His applications were passed for payment on 19 December 1991.

80 Mr. Carey asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Clare will be paid his (a) headage, (b) suckler cow and (c) beef premium grants for 1991; and when the file was passed from the Ennis office of his Department.

This applicant has already been paid his 1991 cattle headage, sheep headage and suckler cow premium schemes grants. His 1991 special beef premium scheme grant is being processed and if found in order payment will issue shortly.

The cattle headage and suckler cow schemes applications were passed for payment on 10 January 1992, and the sheep headage and special beef premium schemes applications were passed on 11 July 1991 and 16 December 1991, respectively.

Question:

81 Mr. Enright asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will outline (a) the position on the application for a beef subsidy by a person (details supplied) in County Offaly and (b) the amount of subsidy approved if any; and when payment will be made.

This applicant has been requested to submit cattle identity cards in respect of two animals applied for under the 1991 special beef premium scheme and when he does so, the question of the payment of grants to him under that scheme will be considered further.

82 Mr. Enright asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will outline (a) the position on the application for a beef premium of a person (details supplied) in County Laois and (b) the amount of premium approved if any; and when payment will be made.

The person named applied for grants in respect of 37 animals under the 1991 special beef premium scheme. When the application was checked it was found that only 28 animals were involved and that grants had been applied for twice on nine animals. Under EC Regulations my Department have no choice but to rule this applicant out of the 1991 special beef premium scheme and to debar him from the scheme for 12 months from 13 December 1991.

83 Mr. Belton asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when headage payments will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Longford.

This applicant has already been paid his grants under the 1991 suckler cow premium, special beef premium and cattle and equines headage schemes.

Liam Aylward

Question:

84 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will have arrangements made to have a sheep subsidy paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

The first and second instalments of the 1991 ewe premium will be paid to the person named within the next three weeks. The third and final instalment will be paid in March/April 1992 when the EC Commission fixes the level of that instalment.

85 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will have arrangements made for early payment of a beef premium and a cow subsidy to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

One of the persons named is the registered herd owner in this case and her 1991 beef cow, suckler cow and special beef premium scheme grants are being processed. If found in order payment will issue shortly.

86 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if a suckler cow grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

Payment due to this applicant under the 1991 suckler cow premium scheme is being processed and will issue shortly.

87 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will give details of the amount of grant aid due to a person (details supplied) in County Cork in respect of pollution control work; and when the grant will be paid.

A grant of £1,509 has been approved in this case and it is expected that it will be paid within a few weeks.

88 Mr. L. Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a beef premium for 1991 will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

This person's applications under 1991 suckler cow and special beef premium schemes will be paid as soon as they can be processed.

Question:

89 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will give details of the up to date position regarding payment of (1) a beef premium, (2) a suckler cow subsidy, (3) a cattle headage grant and (4) a sheep headage to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford in view of his reply to Parliamentary Question No. 111 of 10 December 1991; when payment of £150 grant will issue to this person in respect of a mare and an equine headage in respect of two mares.

This applicant has already been paid his 1991 sheep headage scheme grant. His 1991 special beef premium, suckler cow and cattle and equines headage grants are being processed and if found in order payments will issue shortly.

The £150 grants payable under the foal registration incentive scheme are payable only on the registration of a foal in the Irish Horse Register or the Connemara Pony Stud Book. If the person named has registered a foal from the mare in question during 1991, the Deputy will need to supply the Irish Horse Register number for both the mare and foal and the approximate date of the breeder's application for the grant.

Question:

90 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason for the delay in payment of a beef premium and £150 grant in respect of a mare to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford; and when payment of same will issue.

This applicant's 1991 special beef premium scheme grant is being processed and if found in order payment will issue shortly.

The £150 grants payable under the foal registration incentive scheme are payable only on the registration of a foal in the Irish Horse Register or the Connemara Pony Stud Book. If the person named has registered a foal from the mare in question during 1991, the Deputy will need to supply the Irish Horse Register number for both the mare and foal and the approximate date of the breeder's application for the grant.

91 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a special beef premium will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

This applicant's 1991 special beef premium scheme grant is being processed and if found in order payment will issue shortly.

Frank Crowley

Question:

92 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reasons a person (details supplied) in County Cork was refused a beef premium; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The person named was rejected for the 1991 special beef premium scheme because he listed three female animals on his application and another animal which he did not maintain for the required two months from the date of application. Female animals are ineligible for the special beef premium scheme.

93 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a beef subsidy for 19 bullocks will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork who applied for the grant in June, 1991 and has not heard anything since.

Payment due to this applicant on 19 bullocks under the 1991 special beef premium scheme is being processed and if found in order payment will issue shortly.

94 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will have arrangements made to have a beef subsidy paid to a person (details supplied) in County Laois where the application has been made for some time and is in order.

This applicant's 1991 special beef premium scheme grant is being processed and if found in order payment will issue shortly.

John O'Leary

Question:

95 Mr. O'Leary asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a grant aid for farm buildings and haysheds will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry having regard to the fact that the buildings were inspected and completed on 14th October, 1991 as outlined in a letter from his predecessor; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

It is a strict condition of the farm development schemes that the work must have the prior written approval of the farm development service.

As this condition was not complied with in this case the grant aid is not payable.
