Vol. 415 No. 8

Written Answers. - School Repairs.

Austin Deasy

Question:

250 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Education the reason necessary repairs to a school (details supplied) in County Waterford have not been carried out to date; and when these will be carried out.

I have made inquiries into this case and I find that, while my Department's professional advisers were in consultation some years ago with the then chairman of the board of management with a view to carrying out some improvement works at the school referred to by the Deputy, the matter was not pursued at local level due to various prevailing circumstances. If, however, local circumstances have now changed and the board of management wishes to proceed with any improvement works deemed necessary, I will be happy to have my professional advisers reactivate this case.
