Question:139 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Justice if he will give details of the total number of persons tried before a judge and jury under section 15 of the Misuse of Drugs Act, 1984, in (1) 1989, (2) 1990 and (3) 1991.

Garda and court statistics are not recorded in such a way as to extract the specific information requested by the Deputy. Such information as is readily available in relation to charges and convictions under the Misuse of Drugs Act is contained in the Garda Commissioner's Annual Report on Crime, copies of which are in the Oireachtas Library.
