Grant assistance for coast protection works is allocated by my Department for approved projects submitted by local authorities rather than as compensation to individuals.
My Department have written to all maritime local authorities, seeking their proposals for works to deal with coastal erosion in their areas. Limerick County Council's proposals do not include works at the location referred to by the Deputy.
