Vol. 416 No. 6

Written Answers. - Pupil Placement.

Richard Bruton

Question:

240 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Education if he will provide a classroom assistant in St. Joseph's School for the Deaf, Cabra, Dublin 7, to meet the needs of a prospective pupil (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The appropriate educational placement for the child in question was recently reviewed by the relevant expert authorities and it was decided that he should remain for the current school year at St. Paul's special school, Beaumont, Dublin 9. The position is to be reassessed at the end of that period when the question of the child's future needs will be considered.
