381 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will be paid his 1991 beef premium.

Edward Nealon

Question:

382 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when the outstanding grant(s) under the severely handicapped areas cattle and sheep grant schemes will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Sligo.

This applicant has been paid his 1991 cattle headage and suckler cow premium schemes grants already. He has been requested to submit a cattle identity card in respect of an animal applied for under the 1991 special beef premium scheme and when he does so the question of payment of grants to him under that scheme will be considered further.

The first and second instalments of the 1991 ewe premium were paid on 15 November 1991 and the 1991 sheep headage grant was paid on 16 December 1991. This flock owner was overpaid under the 1983, 1984, 1985 and 1987 sheep headage schemes due to an undeclared off-farm income. His 1988, 1989 and part of his 1990 ewe premiums are being withheld in offset against these overpayments.

The flock owner has been asked to furnish documentary evidence about his grazings and payment of his 1990 sheep headage will be considered further on receipt of this evidence.
