Vol. 416 No. 6

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Terry Leyden

Question:

391 Mr. Leyden asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will investigate the circumstances regarding an application for an EC suckler scheme grant to a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon.

This applicant is not eligible for grants under the 1990 and 1991 suckler cow premium schemes for small scale milk producers as he has only 16 cows and as that number is required to fill his quota of 10,740 gallons, this leaves him with no suckler cows eligible for premium.

396 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if his Department will pay headage grants to a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon.

This applicant has been requested to forward documentation in respect of lands owned and farmed by her and when she does so her application for grants under the 1991 cattle and equines headage scheme will be considered further. Her application for grants under the 1991 suckler cow premium scheme is being processed at present and payment will issue shortly. She has been deemed ineligible for grants under the 1991 special beef premium as she did not have the animals on which she applied for premium earpunched as required under the terms and conditions of the scheme.
