Vol. 416 No. 6

Written Answers. - Grant Application.

Michael Creed

Question:

423 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Social Welfare if a group (details supplied) in County Cork have applied for a grant from his Department; and if so, if he will outline the current position regarding this.

My Department administer a scheme of grants for women's groups. This scheme provides grants to assist locally based women's groups involved in programmes of self-help and personal development and priority is given to groups in disadvantaged areas.

The 1992 scheme was advertised in the national papers on 28 February. Information on the scheme, together with an application form, has been sent to the group. The group in question has, in fact, previously received assistance under the scheme.
