Vol. 416 No. 6

Written Answers. - Sale of Dublin Properties.

Gerry O'Sullivan

Question:

45 Mr. G. O'Sullivan asked the Minister for Finance the reason his Department are failing to give priority to the legal documentation necessary to provide for the sale of the properties, previously held by Dublin Corporation, at Beggars Bush; the reason for the delay at this stage; if he will outline when the properties will be sold; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Following on consultations and negotiations between Dublin Corporation and the Commissioners of Public Works in regard to the future of this property, the corporation informed the commissioners in February 1992 of a decision by the city council to retain their interest in the property held under lease and to pursue the refurbishment of the buildings as dwellings for senior citizens.

Prior to undertaking the refurbishment, the corporation have made proposals in regard to securing improved title to the property. These proposals are under consideration.
