Vol. 416 No. 8

Written Answers. - International Driving Licences.

John V. Farrelly

Question:

118 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for the Environment when he intends to announce the extension of recognised states for the purpose of drivers who held full driving licences in other countries and on returning here, have to carry out another test; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The question of declaring additional countries to be recognised states in accordance with Article 19 (6) of the Road Traffic (Licensing of Drivers) Regulations, 1989 is being examined and I will make a decision in the matter as soon as possible.
