Question:235 Mr. Flanagan asked the Minister for the Environment if he will outline the number of dog licences issued in the State in 1968, 1978 and 1988.

According to information supplied by local authorities, a total of 157,574 individual dog licences and 126 general dog licences were issued in 1988. Figures for the earlier years are not available in my Department.
